Drove from Centralia, WA to LaGrande,Or on my way to Boise and your property when I was stopped and finally not allowed to go through to Boise because of the Wolf Fire danger that day. Had to turn around and drive home, missing the time to spend with my daughter and son in law in your nice motel.
I left my home in Centralia, WA to visit my adult daughter and her husband that live in Boise. As I drove from Pendleton, OR toward Boise I noticed the smokey haze on the horizon. As I pulled into La Grande, OR the Idaho State Patrol had the road going South blocked saying that they were evaluating the road going South because of wild fires between La Grande and my destination of Boise. I pulled off the road into a grocery store parking lot and less than 30 minutes later I was told they were "closing" the road with no timeline to reopen it. I called my daughter and she said there were fires between the LaGrande, OR and Ontario, Oregon area and she urged me to turn back around as the fires were not under control with ( at that time) no idea as to when the roads to Boise would be open. Now, I love my daughter and had four nights prepaid at your motel (which I have stayed at before) but I made at that moment the only outcome that made sense. don't risk my life, turn around and drive all the way back to Centralia! My daughter went to your motel the next day to let you know why I did not show up and cancel my reservation. The woman she spoke with said the money could not be returned but said because I had purchased the insurance through the company your website referred me to told my daughter that I should rely on getting my money back. Evidently, that P.O.S. company denied my request because I didn't get documentation from local authorities in LaGrande. pretty damn weak if you ask me.
The hotel was very convenient for flying in and out of Boise. The free breakfast was a great value! I would stay again if in the area.
Walked in to register for our prepaid room and declare our support dog. A two lb Yorkie. Been accepted in all hotels we've stayed in. She is an official ESA licensed support dog. I was met with a smerky smile and told we(my daughter with CP, the dog and myself) were not welcome. I was to call the 3rd party I booked with to get a refund. So RUDE! FRIDAY at 10:30 pm when a person has driven 4000 miles in five days is not the time to tell someone they aren't welcome. Never been met with such behavior! I swear Idaho is not the state I have loved and lived in for 50 years. We used to be accommodating and friendly. NOT ANYMORE!
