We have always had a pretty good experience with our stays at Holiday Inn Express, until our stay at the Houston East Baytown location. We arrived late on a very hot day and the A/C was turned off in our room with the west facing curtain pulled back (which made it much hotter). Then my husband went to get ice and the ice machine was "out of order" and another sign saying that the laundry room was also "out of order". The next morning we checked out and waiting for the elevator. When the elevator doors never opened, we went back to the room to call the lobby and, you got it, the telephone did not work. My husband was in a lot of pain in his knees and hips and had to go down the stair with all our luggage. We got downstairs and management was putting a sign on the elevator door indicating it was "out of order". We went to the breakfast room and the food did not look very appetizing. My husband paid the bill and got a receipt. The receipt was under his name but with someone else's credit card info and charges, instead of ours. Very bad experience overall. Esmeralda Walker.
