Overall the stay was very good. Nathan front desk was super helpful and saved the day. I had to change rooms because my first room (#806) had a faulty A/C unit and it was way too warm. The little A/C unit that was in the room when I arrived, cold not do the job. If not for Nathan's willingness to help me change rooms, I would have left the property and gone to a new hotel. Nathan rocked.
The hotel is an absolute gem in the heart of Iowa City. It is private and serene with floor to ceiling windows, large hallways and spacious rooms making you feel relaxed and comfortable from the minute you enter the hotel. The beds and bedding are luxurious and comfortable. The staff is kind, helpful and welcoming. We've had our second stay and don't intend to stay elsewhere while in I.C. The added value of having Film Scene and a coffee bar/pastries in the hotel make it that much more complete if you just want a relaxing day of staying close to "home".
