La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Beaumont West

The day we checked in the elevator sometimes worked and sometimes it didn't. We had to carry our luggage to the 3rd floor. It did seem to be working better the next morning. We were awakened by the fire alarm at 6am as a waffle maker started smoking. There were other things that made the hotel feel old and tired, like showering in a bathtub and not enough outlets or USB ports (only two on the alarm clock) in the room for three people. Breakfast was typical crappy hotel eggs and sausage. They did have decaf coffee though so kudos for that.
After another hotel overbooked they called La Quinta to see if there were rooms (we needed two beds) I made reservation on the phone and did not find out until we paid that the room only had one bed. When I wanted to cancel the phone person said I had to go to another department which was another disaster. I ended up going to the property and was well taken care of by the staff. The property itself could use updating for $200/night. Overall though it served our needs.
