It’s not possible to drive up to the hotel entrance and we needed to cancel our reservation so my husband got out of the car and tried to speak to the hotel manager to explain the situation and cancel our reservation. But there was no one there to help us. We were suffering from Heat Exhaustion having spent two days outside installing a technology solution on trailers for a multinational agricultural company in Central California that was during a federally declared Excessive Heat Warning. By the time we arrived at the Edwardian on our check in date, it was 8:15pm. So we left San Francisco and went to home to recover. We were very upset and frustrated that we could not even find a human to help us with our situation. A week before our reservation, I tried to cancel one of the two nights I had reserved. But I got the run around, the hotel said I needed to talk to the reservation company, the reservation company said I needed to talk to the hotel manager. And we were never able to talk to the hotel manager! The day after we were supposed to have checked in I contacted the hotel online because there is no way to talk to a human and again requested a cancelation of the reservation knowing that I would have to pay for one night per the cancellation policy. But there has been no response! I am very frustrated with my experience with the hotel, there are no people who can help. The hotel is in an impossible location if you have a car, parking is 8 blocks away which is unsafe to leave a car full of anything valuable and schlep your luggage 8 blocks to the hotel. I’m very upset that I had to pay upfront for two nights, we could not get anyone to cancel one of the nights and then could not talk to anyone when we got to the hotel. I have a large expense for something that I could not use. Please have the hotel manager reach out to me so I can get at least get a refund for one of the nights, a full refund would make me feel like the hotel cares and I can leave a more positive review.
