Rooms are always clean. Location is good. Close to stores and downtown Alameda.
20 years ago this was our favorite hotel on Alameda when we were taking sailing lessons at Club Nautique, a top training facility minutes away. Unfortunately, the property appears have deteriorated since then. Some cosmetic improvements have been done, but overall the fit and finish of the work is substandard. The floors have been redone with faux wood, so if you're on the bottom floor you hear always will hear footsteps of th the occupant above you. On the positive side the bath towels were luxurious, the bed comfortable and the price very reasonable. Overall a good value but don't expect too much.
Need better vanity soap dispenser, no microwave, revise entry door drape system. Room was clean and orderly.
When I first arrived at Marina Village Inn around 2AM I only wanted to check in and go straight to bed. I had a communication issue with the guy behind the desk and the device he was asking me to sign without me seeing what I was signing. Once we got past that, he went out of his way to check something else for me then showed me where my room was. The next morning, my checkout was smooth with a different worker. My room was clean, comfortable and had a lovely view. Overall, I recommend Marina Village Inn.
